24 Hour Aftercare Advice for Sugaring

It is important that after your treatment this advice is followed for 24 hours unless stated to ensure that you continue to gain the maximum benefit from the treatment received.

It is normal for the skin to appear slightly red and sore after sugaring and for the hair follicles to be temporarily raised. By following this after care advice the skin should return to normal within 48 hours.

  • Avoid hot baths, showers, saunas, steam rooms and UV-light including sun beds for 48 hours following sugaring to prevent overheating
  • Exfoliate and moisturise after 24 hours and then every 2-3 days between treatments to prevent ingrown hairs and ensure smooth skin
  • Avoid aerobics, swimming or heavy exercise to prevent blocked pores and irritation
  • Tight clothing should be avoided following any sugaring treatment to prevent skin reactions
  • Deodorant and perfumed products should be avoided to prevent irritation and skin reactions
  • Do not touch or pick at the area so as to avoid infection
  • Avoid make-up and self tanning products to avoid blocked pores
  • Apply sun block daily to prevent sunlight interfering with the natural healing process for 2-3 days following your treatment
  • If your skin feels hot following your treatment, bathe the area with a cold salt water solution (1/2 teaspoon salt to 1 cup of water) to cool and soothe the skin
